I met with Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Odisha, India. Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences is a residential institute providing a holistic education from kinder garden to post graduation to thousands of marginalised students. The Institute covers more than 62 tribal communities and has a population of 25,000 thousands students. We discussed the proposal for the setting up of a similar institute for deprived children in Mauritius.
